European Answer to Asian Market Dominance:
AMOR® acquires production site of Beate Uhse subsidiary

Effective as at 01 June, AMOR® Gummiwaren GmbH has acquired major parts of the largest production site for vibrators, lubricants, application vibrators and medical lubricants from the Hungarian BU productions Kft., a subsidiary of the BeateUhse Group. A component of the contract is also the acquisition of various established brands, among other Lavetra and Vibratissimo. The acquisition turns the company from Arnstadt into one of Europe's leading full-range suppliers for erotic products. With this venture AMOR® simultaneously becomes a serious alternative to cheap Asian products. It was agreed to remain confidential regarding the purchase price.

"The acquisition of the production site and various brands is an essential strategic decision for the future and comes at precisely the right time" comments Managing Director Michael Dills on the contract. "We have been able to register an increase in turnover of over 20% and have thus almost exhausted our capacities." The company is now able to satisfy the increasing demand for quality products even faster and with more flexibility. And: "We have thus become a serious European alternative to the existing market dominance of Asian products", says Dills.

The market for erotic products, led by condoms, has been growing for years. Sixteen billion condoms alone are currently used every year - tendency rising. As well as the European market, AMOR® also supplies South Africa, Pakistan, South America and the Caribbean. Next to condoms, further erotic products such as lubricants, vibrators and other sex toys are part of the product range from Arnstadt. Only six months ago the company launched a brand new young Sexual-Well-Being range, which particularly appeals to the Sex-And-The-City generation. A common criterion for all products: Each article has to comply with the highest standards in matters of functionality and safety. AMOR® products are predominately manufactured in Germany and from natural raw materials. Strict tests and controls ensure the effectiveness and quality of all items. The collection is available in industry-specific shops, drugstore markets or at chemists and via the own Internet-Shop (www.amor-shop.de), which Dills would like to re-launch shortly in view of the expansion.
